I came upon an altar

In a very strange place

It was sitting unencumbered

By demands of time and space

Within glowed living embers

Exposing scars upon my face

Each one as I remembered

Vanished without a trace

I took a step and faltered

My will could not be found

What is left for me to do

And then I hear the sound

The more I tried to listen

The harder it was

Brought to my knees I let it go

The beating of a drum
